Travel to Edinburgh


Edinburgh Airport is in the west of Edinburgh. It is located approx. 30-40 minutes drive from the city centre. You can travel from the airport to the city centre by tram, bus, taxi or car. Visit Edinburgh Airport transport-links for information.


Taxis generally accept all major credit cards.
At the airport: Taxis and private hire vehicles are located on the ground floor of the multi-storey car park opposite to the main terminal building. City Cabs provide „Black Cabs” which do not need to be pre-booked and can seat 5-6 people with modest amounts of luggage. A journey to the city centre typically takes about 25 minutes and costs approx. £25.00. All taxis are wheelchair accessible.


Most train services to Edinburgh end at Edinburgh Waverley rail station. The rail station is at the east end of Princes Street in the city centre. Visit ScotRail for help planning a trip by train.
